Programs

During the course of the year, every grade level has the opportunity to perform in one music program. The programs usually feature songs, concepts or skills we’ve been working on in class, tied together around a central theme. Some grade levels have a program that is the same year after year (for example, the Kindergarteners sing songs as a part of their Kindergarten celebration in May; the 4th graders do a recorder concert sometime in April to show the recorder-playing skills they have learned throughout the year). In any case, we will send home a note as far in advance as possible to let you know when the program will be. In most cases, we have the programs during the school day (usually near the end of the day). While we understand not all parents will be able to attend, it does allow all children to be in attendance, and to feel they have been a part of a successful program.

In the future, efforts will be made to video the programs and provide an online link for parents to watch, especially for those parents and family members who were not able to attend the program in person.
